[big_title2] Some people believe that the media, such as the press, TV and Internet should be more strictly controlled. To what extent do you agree or disagree?[/big_title2]
There is an opinion that mass media should be strictly censored. The opponents say that information coming from different sources such as press, TV and Internet should gain free access from any man who seeks it. Personally, I am in favour of the latter view as any information must be easily accessible to all citizens. In my essay I will talk about how important open information is.
Firstly, the great minus of mass media – the manipulation of news in order to gain political benefit – will disappear, as people will receive information from different sources and will not be misled so easily. Another point is that authenticity of information will be improved due to multi-source information income. Thus people would have opportunity to observe any issue from different angels to obtain an objective point of view.
Some drawbacks of borderless information access can be connected with teenagers. They know how to use Internet, but are not prepared for all the content they can find there. This issue can be solved by different programs that provide “parents’ control”.
In my opinion, there should be no limitation to the information in mass media especially taking into account that a lot of people trust everything they see on the screen and are easy to manipulate. The alternative source of news can provide them another angle of view on the subject.
