Music connects people, contributing to a more coherent society. It is the language of music that is understood by everyone, bringing people from different backgrounds together. Children, be they rich or poor, listen to the same lullabies, which connect various generations and sections of society, which is of great importance in today’s disconnected world.

In today’s globalized world with its variety of international musical styles, it is a traditional music that helps to preserve the culture of a nation. This is because the musical heritage of a country is passed on from one generation to another, connecting them in time. In contrast, international music is mostly commercialized, having little if any cultural value.

In conclusion, I believe that a major function of music is connecting people and preserving cultural heritage, which makes traditional music of utmost importance.
