Some people believe that educational success depends on good teachers. Others think that it’s depends on the attitude of the students. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Шаг первый: перефразируем задание + формулируем 1 аргумент за и 1 аргумент против во вступлении + выдвигаем наше мнение (какую сторону поддерживаем):

The extend a teacher defines his students’ academic performance generates a high degree of controversy, being neglected by those who prioritize learners’ own efforts. I believe that personal dedication is the driving force of success in study since it ensures a self-sufficient educational system, while professional supervision is only required occasionally for consulting.

Шаг 2: поясняем преимущество  + пример для подкрепления вашей позиции:

Admittedly, never before has the educational environment been so competitive, requiring the guidance of highly-qualified experts for forming a well-structured curriculum. Being overloaded with various information, contemporary students demand a teacher to prioritize their educational aims and form a plan to stick to. To illustrate this, at present, an average student has to involve 3 times as many reference sources for their thesis as they used to a decade ago. Consequently, if it were not for assistance of academic supervisors, graduates would not be able to navigate through  these materials. However, be that as it may, this supervision is still supposed to provide a direction for learning progress, while it is solely student’s own commitment that enables this process.

Шаг 3: поясняем другую сторону + ослабляем этот аргумент предложением “However, it is clear that…”:

Nevertheless, despite this pivotal role of a tutor, academic progress is still driven mainly by inner sources of motivation which is, in my opinion, the key to any development. This is because education, be it a course at university or dancing lessons, is a continuous process which is fueled by sense of achievement as a result of overcome challenges. Therefore, students’ attitude towards their study, and not professional aid, appears to be a bedrock principle of acquiring new competencies, thus, forming a can-do mentality in the long run. A prime example is a recent Nobel prize laureate in physics Haruki Jamamoto, who, being born and bred in a tiny Japanese village, managed to enter the Harvard university at the age of 15 as an independent researcher.

Шаг 4: делаем вывод о преимуществе (дублируем нашу позицию в заключении)

In conclusion, though people may vary in their opinions, I consider a learner’s approach to be more significant for educational accomplishments than a talented teacher as not only does it provide a conducive environment for forming a wide range of skills, but it also guarantees a gradual adaptation to challenges which are provided in abundance by an independent education.
