It is generally believed that some people are born with certain talents, for instance for sport or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Шаг первый: перефразируем задание + формулируем 1 аргумент за и 1 аргумент против во вступлении + выдвигаем наше мнение (какую сторону поддерживаем):

The essential role of talent as the foundation of any outstanding achievement in contrast to trained skills is both refuted and supported by many. In my opinion, I believe that a talent factor can be neglected as the genetic predisposition makes an infinitesimal contribution to progress when compared to persistent supervised practice.

Шаг 2: поясняем преимущество  + пример для подкрепления вашей позиции

On the one hand, proponents of genetically programmed success base their opinion on the assumption that it is genes that provide an unequalled competitive advantage. Not only are human inclinations programmed at the biological level, but they are also strictly limited by our ancestors’ capacities. This can be illustrated by such kinds of art as opera, where an ear to music, being an inborn feature, is often believed to be the key to success. However, convincing as this theory might seem, some extraordinary exceptions like, for instance, Mozart, who lost irreversibly his hearing abilities at the age of 6, can still be seen.

Шаг 3: поясняем другую сторону + ослабляем этот аргумент предложением “On the other hand…”:

On the other hand, opponents of biological restrictions are firmly convinced that a well-organized teaching process ensures virtually limitless opportunities and I agree. The reason for this is the mechanism of adaptation to increasingly challenging exercises that enables trainees to go far beyond their inborn qualities in the long run. If it had not been for this admirable persistence, a wide range of overwhelming achievements would not have been made. A prime example is an outstanding Russian general Suvorov who, being born physically weak, achieved the highest position in the army which was irrevocably tied to his continuous tireless both physical and mental training.

Шаг 4: делаем вывод о преимуществе (дублируем нашу позицию в заключении)

In conclusion, though people may vary in their opinions, I believe that sustainable adaptability to new challenges and not talent is what lies at the heart of many if not all human accomplishments.
